Introduction

Three encounters with a single cloth

None of our experiences begins with new fabric.
Sometimes a cloth bears a flaw, sometimes a stain; sometimes only a small fragment remains.
Even with a flaw, its beauty remains.
Even as a small fragment, the charm of its colour and pattern remains.

It may become NUNO Kintsugi.
It may become a box, kept close once more. It may become a tray.

We do not let a cloth come to an end.
We find what it holds, and carry it into its next form.
This is where all of our experiences begin.

Cloth outlives us.
A single cloth holds the culture of its land,
the handiwork of those who made it, and the memories of those who wore it.
Applying gold, and cherishing it still. Taking time to make. Bringing it into daily life.
Through these three experiences, we hope you will meet cloth with slightly different eyes.

What memory of cloth stays with you?
